We have enough evidence of' hone in' in use that we enter it in our dictionaries. However, 'home in' remains significantly more common and is the version to use if you want to avoid criticism.

Someone please send a few introductory biology textbooks to the Dept HHS, preferably ones with nice schematic pics of mitochondria and some text explaining how cell organelles function. High school level should be adequate

RFK JR: I’m looking at kids as I walk through the airports today...and I see these kids that are just overburdened with mitochondrial challenges, inflammation—you can tell from their faces, movements, and lack of social connection

Communicating ideas with other scientists is an essential part of doing science. At conferences, you talk about what you're doing, present at posters/talks, and hear feedback. That process refines & improves yr thoughts. Conferences and seminars are vital for science progress.

Why is this a Nature article in 2025 when my neuro circles in the 2000s and 2010s were like "I have to find more papers from X because I think they're my reviewer so they will be happy" or even "the reviewer told me to cite X which I think is their own work"? Science is so broken

"Maverick" is named after Samuel Maverick, who didn't brand his cattle. Unbranded cattle soon became known as "mavericks." #etymology
