In a new @Sensible__Med column, I had the chance to provide some much needed nuance regarding @RobertKennedyJr & the field of vaccinology. He is correct that most vaccines were never adequately tested for their overall health effects, so I hope this will change w his nomination.
To me this is one of the reasons @Sensible__Med exists.A collumn by @FSBuchholzer, who is an epidemiologist & vaccine researcher, who is largely SUPPORTIVE of @RobertKennedyJr, even on vaccines. How is that possible?.link in replies

BUT the Lancet study did not include non-specific effects in their out-of-this-world numbers, only the specific effect against the targeted diseases, which were of course astronomical, given that DTP is highly effective. But effects on all-cause mortality is what matters.

Aside from the false safety assurances, the statement goes on to cite a recent Lancet study that concluded that DTP saved over 40 million lives globally in the last 50 years (, which would be utterly phenomenal if true. .

GAVI posted a statement basically saying that all safety concerns regarding DTP has been accounted for by WHO's SAGE. This, however, is not correct, because it has been 10 years since SAGE looked into this, thus before 2017 study referred to by RFK Jr.

GAVI's work is important and I regret the US defunding. It would likely be better to work with the relevant bodies to initiate the necessary safety studies and assess whether DTP has negative non-specific effects, which all observational data with adequate methodology suggests.

If I may chip in here, it is correct that the safety concerns over DTP has been ignored ever since they were first reported >2 decades ago. This is not GAVI's area of responsibility, however, the fault is with WHO's SAGE, who promised to do additional studies and never did them.

Vaccine trials should not only be placebo-controlled (with a real inactive placebo, saline), they should also report effects on all-cause mortality and morbidity. In this way, we would assess the vaccine effects on overall health: positive, negative, or no non-specific effects.
Good question - but this is well known!. 1. Vaccine safety issues are, in reality, rarely determined in clinical trials at all - because the events are so rare. They are often only detected in post licensure surveillance after the vaccine has been shown effective (in trials).

I am still waiting for input from @19joho as to whether he wants dyes out of food. Apparently, GRAS standards has been abused in the US and it is stipulated that there are 10,000 ingredients in American products vs 400 in Europe. If that is true, it is a ridicouless difference.

I am therefore naturally hesitant, especially about mass vaccination in such a vulnerable period of the baby's life. And it seems that European countries are too; only a couple of eastern European countries (🇧🇬🇱🇹🇵🇱🇷🇴) and 🇵🇹 apply such a radical policy.

An important concern is that hep. B vaccine is an inactivated (subunit) vaccine, a vaccine class previously associated with detrimental non-specific effects. Hep. B vaccine has not been evaluated for such effects, e.g., effects on the newborn's overall health & immune system.

I've been attacked by a few anonymous profiles and a couple of neurologists and surgeons, for saying that mass hep. B vaccination immediately at birth is unnecessary, with a screening program & vaccination of infants at risk of maternally-transferred hep. B being a better policy.
