Ask any parent and most will say their kid has come across indecent content online. That's because #Section230 has allowed for an explosion of harmful content with no real consequences. Reforms to Section 230 are sorely needed to hold #BigTech accountable. https://t.co/tuqaE0ObsU

In 2023, the U.S. justice system, including the Supreme Court, will take on cases that will help determine the bounds of free expression on the internet.

We agree, @POTUS: “Bipartisan proposals to protect our privacy and our children; to prevent discrimination, sexual exploitation, and cyberstalking; and to tackle anticompetitive conduct shouldn’t separate us.” #FutureOfTech

Fantastic oped by @POTUS reaffirming his administration's commitment to hold #BigTech accountable. Americans on both sides of the aisle want our elected leaders to push for stronger online privacy protections—especially for our kids and teens! https://t.co/xhwmknx22W

We commend @SenatorLujan for introducing the Digital Equity Foundation Act, which creates a clear pathway to sustainable ongoing investments in #DigitalInclusion programs. Support for these programs is essential so that every family can fully access and use high-speed internet.

Online crimes like phishing occur more frequently every day, threatening the security of individual identities and disrupting normal business and government operations. As we know from @FOTComm, voters—on a bipartisan basis—overwhelmingly worry about our nation’s #cybersecurity.

This is a major win for California, and for the country. It's time for Congress to take the same steps to protect your information, your privacy, and our democracy.

Our 2022 poll found that ¾ of American voters across the aisle support requiring tech companies to monitor the impact of their products on kids' safety and wellbeing. Sound familiar?

This week, @CAgov signed two groundbreaking bills into law to protect kids and families online. These bills reflect two of our key recommendations: ✅Ensure platforms are designed to keep kids safe ✅Require transparency from social media companies

Online misinformation is only a SYMPTOM; the disease is the algorithms that push content out & our data fuels those algorithms. @POTUS sent a clear message to Congress in his SOTU--it's time to hold big tech accountable. Lawmakers must come together to get a deal done this year.

.@POTUS clearly understands that America needs an internet we can trust. His #SOTU call to action will mobilize the political will we need to protect children and families — and democracy itself — from the damage of unchecked tech platforms. Now it’s time for Congress to step up.

Hats off to @POTUS for calling out social media platforms for the harms they cause to kids’ mental health. Americans support strong action, and so do we. We’ve been ringing this bell for more than a decade. It’s time to act. #SOTU

We must hold social media platforms accountable for the national experiment they’re conducting on our children. It’s time to strengthen privacy protections, ban targeted advertising to children, and demand tech companies stop collecting personal data on our children.
