👇This is the takeaway. It means every European country should also understand: the US under Trump is acting as a Russian agent w/in NATO. Given.@SecGenNATO accommodated Trump in all respects at the recent NATO Summit, Mark Rutte should be treated similarly. 1/.
No matter how you want to rationalise it, the USA under Trump has become a vehicle for transferring Ukrainian land to dictatorial Russia. If it could happen to Ukraine, it could happen to any European country.

To understand the current military situation (following Trump's abandonment of Ukraine), @KofmanMichael is among the best analysts. The situation is dire--- making Trump's actions all the more dastardly. Never forget, tho', Ukraine has proven its mettle. It will not surrender.
Russia’s advance near Dobropillia reflects the broader problematic dynamic, characterized by a lack of cohesive defensive lines, and undermanned units holding terrain, which can result in gradual then seemingly sudden shifts. Thread /1 (DeepStateMap)

Would be nice if they could. But don't hold your breath. Why it's important for experts (like @jeffjarvis) to remind us what this "comprehensive review" entails (censoring anything "divisive," i.e. contrary to Trump's views). That Bunche is going along with this is concerning.
Not a "comprehensive review," #BrokenTimes. Censorship. You refuse to use the words fascism and racism. As journalists can you at least recognize and label censorship?.White House Announces Comprehensive Review of Smithsonian Exhibitions

An important reminder to @SecGenNATO Mark Rutte that "de facto" occupation means terror and tyranny for millions. (Perhaps he has trouble understanding this simple point given Netherlands was liberated by Allied forces who ensured his country's freedom in the postwar period.).
The Baltic States were abandoned to Kremlin occupation after WWII and brutally suppressed for 60 years before finally regaining independence by sacrificing blood, with no help from the West. @SecGenNATO's casual talk of "de facto occupation" is therefore ignorant and terrifying.

Thinking today of all those journalists, "specialists" and leaders who got played and took Trump's "turn" against Putin & towards Ukraine at face value. (There was never a "turn." And there was zero prospect that Trump was going to act against Putin or in support of Ukraine.).
Trump: "I get along with Zelenskyy. But you know, I disagree with what he's done. Very, very severely disagree. This is a war that should have never happened . I was a little bothered by the fact that Zelenskyy was saying, 'Well, I have to get constitutional approval.' I mean,

Yes, please note.
As you watch Trump manufacture pretexts for militarizing our cities, please note that an internal Department of Homeland Security memo recently put it in writing that officials want to see the military get much more involved in domestic law enforcement. We obtained that memo:.

True. (But don't ignore that the U.S. entente with Russia about to be made in Alaska will make things much more difficult to break Russia's war machine & require even more determination by European leaders.).
Europe does not need the US to break Russia’s war machine and enable Ukrainian victory. Europe needs its leaders to find their proverbial balls and finally do their job: protect Europe.

In other words, Trump made a deal already to sell out Ukraine (see full thread).
Q: Trump will meet Putin soon. What do you expect?. Vance: Putin said he’d never meet Zelenskyy. Trump got him to agree. We’re scheduling a 3-way talk: freeze current front line, cut a deal both sides probably dislike, but stop the killing. Only Trump can make them meet. 1/

Correct. And unless the world wants continuous wars over borders, the US, Europe and the rest of the world should have Ukraine's back in its war against Russian aggression & demand Russia's withdrawal from all of Ukraine. #NoTerritoryForPeace.
Crimea is Ukraine .Luhansk is Ukraine .Donetsk is Ukraine.Zaporizhzhya is Ukraine.Kherson is Ukraine . Neither russia nor America will ever dictate or decide where the Ukraine border goes. This is Ukraine! .All 603,628 square kilometers of it!.Point blank period!

An important history lesson from @GLandsbergis that speaks to our time.
The current geopolitical moment is often compared to Chamberlain’s betrayal of Czechoslovakia in 1938. But there is another point in history that could be used as an example equally well. In 1944, Stalin, sensing victory approaching, demanded that part of Poland be recognised by

An important message from @ZelenskyyUa. It is intended for Ukrainians most of all to assure them his dance steps w/ Donald Trump do not mean he will capitulate to Putin but also to Trump (and Americans) to make clear to him that he cannot & Ukraine will not capitulate to Putin.
Ukraine is ready for real decisions that can bring peace. Any decisions that are against us, any decisions that are without Ukraine, are at the same time decisions against peace. They will not achieve anything. These are stillborn decisions. They are unworkable decisions. And we

I beg to differ. The US envoy is performing quite competently for what he was appointed to do (smooth the way to a Russia-US entente). Sowing confusion & causing diplomatic crises with European leaders fall well within his remit.

Yes, it was. (Those who support Ukraine should know never to trust Trump.).
Well today was Trump's hard and fast deadline for Putin to end the war--or get crippling sanctions will be put on Russia. Instead, Russia terrorized civilians in Bucha and Odesa last night, and Putin and Trump are organizing a summit. The Trump "pivot" to Ukraine was a sham.
