I'm not allowed to run these appeals myself, I can't reasonably go to the market. Parents are rightly entitled to appeal and every single time they do, less cash will be available to keep standards high.

This will now be close to £10k in one of my smaller schools, every year, for a day of panels staffed by volunteers run by the LA to appeal admissions managed by the LA. Thanks.

This is completely bonkers on Teach First. Feels like Government commercial teams are making the decisions, and there is a risk an excellent provider disappears. Genuinely don't understand the ideology behind this:

Teach First get smart people into teaching. It is one route amongst a few. I've been pushing them to get back to that mission as it has been transformational. If it is watered down, we likely won't use it.

Suspensions and exclusions are a symptom of dealing with poor behaviour. Efforts to reduce this proxy figure must focus on improving behaviour rather than the all-too-common focus on preventing schools from effectively managing poor behaviour.
