For Ellen Roome (

), her son Jools and for the sacred bond we have as human beings that is not the business of big tech. Give parents/guardians a right to access social media accounts of their children. Thank you.
'We are waiting for children to die before we get that information.'
Ellen Roome is yet to receive crucial data from social media companies that may provide information about her son’s death.
She has campaigned tirelessly to amend the Online Safety Bill.
I didn’t say that Jools was “into every challenge possible”. I did say that he tried several of them. I’ve NEVER said I know why he died, only that it is my gut feeling it was a challenge. That’s why I want Jools’ data, because I don’t know.
#JoolsLaw
I have done rather a lot recently!
I now have to take this to the High Court to obtain data regarding Jools - that's crazy but I will and inturn, hopefully, set a precedence for other bereaved parents - Link in my bio to donate to legals

My son Jools died aged 14. I should have the right to know what he was looking at on social media before he died. I don’t. Surely parents should have the right to view children’s social media. Please sign and share

Imagine if our streets were so lawless that children regularly witnessed rapes & beheadings on the way to school & were propositioned daily for sex. This is not a horror movie: it’s the digital world that our children occupy. We must save kids from this online Wild West. A🧵1/16

Hard-fought for rights for bereaved parents to access their child’s social media data were lost with the Data Bill. The next Government should urgently reinstate and pass these measures, and strengthen them to ensure no bereaved parents are left behind

Yesterday some of us from the bereaved families for online safety group we met with

Presenter Sarah Beeny is calling for the government to ban ALL smart devices from being used in schools. She says it will stop students being distracted in class, but others think the move might make kids unprepared for the real world.
Is it right to ban all devices in schools?
