SO HAPPY Storm Child has been longlisted for the Children's Wainwright Prize for fiction. I grew up with copies of his guides to the fells. Last year, I hiked his favourite, Haystacks, with my kids. His books shaped my love of nature, so this feels special @wainwrightprize

Storm Child by Ele Fountain Spark! Book Awards 9+ category. I love how the author effortlessly interweaves themes of climate change, family debt and sustainability through the eyes of the young character, Maya. I enjoyed the storm metaphor relating to change in Maya's life.

Wonderful dual narrator tale of survival in the Artic. Beautifully set up, with just enough time spent developing the characters before thrusting them into peril together. Impact of climate change is shown first hand. Read at the beach to counteract the cold. Ta @EleFountain
