The biopic will end in the 80s because of “rights issues” but if it’s well received, they’ll greenlight a sequel. Isn’t the rights issue still going to be there? How does the biopic being successful change that?

As a business though once they square away the legalities, doing a Two parter will make the Estate a shit ton of money.
The concept of dying at age 50 therefore your biopic can be split into 2 parts ages 0-25 to 25-50

This is very disappointing if true. You can’t create a movie on Michael’s life and have it just end in the 80’s. Sure a second film would be a good way to tightly focus on the period of his life after the 80’s but a second film isn’t even guaranteed
