I visited one in Brickell a year ago and I let them explain the product without mentioning that I was a practicing physician. It seemed like a product a bunch of MBA students came up with over a weekend.

Update: Just spoke with Thanh-Truc Le (, who said they have to follow insurance guidelines, but could not explain the rationale for checking at week 4 and would not say that she would have checked on her own patient. #GITwitter #LiverTwitter #MedTwitter.

Just spoke w/Karen Le (pharmacist) @BCBSAssociation, who denied coverage on the 2nd half of an 8-week course of treatment because HCV RNA wasn't checked at 4 weeks even though 2023.@AASLDtweets/@IDSA guidelines recommend simplified testing. #GITwitter #LiverTwitter #IDTwitter.

The people at Epic probably think this is some kind of flex, but it is a perfect encapsulation of how poorly designed and cluttered their EMR is. It's designed by people who don't have a basic understanding of functionality.
