These rankings of highest/lowest paying medical specialty lists don’t help anyone and probably do trainees a disservice if they’re being influenced…. Cause anyone actually in medicine knows there’s SO MUCH variability based on subspecialty, practice setting, geography, etc…

About half the doctors who call me asking about industry careers, when asked “what motivates this desire for change?” tell me “for better work-life balance”. Incorrect answer. ❌. First, wrong motivation. Second, not everything outside clinical practice is cushier!.

Used an ambient listening AI scribe this week for the first time and was totally blown away…. Most surprisingly, I found myself being more thorough cause I knew the AI was listening so I’d read out the lab and imaging findings in more detail 😯
