@DrPeate @Saara_riibeiro Such an important point. While it offers autonomy, it still operates within a context which frames motherhood as the ultimate goal. We need to hold space to choose or not choose motherhood without feeling like they’re failing. #ESHREjc

@zoyaalii_ in clinical practice, we see EEF as opportunity for women to make an informed choice about their family planning - exactly what the decision aid aimed at. #ESHREjc

Decision aids like this aren't just valuable for those who choose to pursue EEF, but also for those who decide it's not the path for them. It's equally important to explore how such tools impact long-term well-being, regardless of the choice made #ESHREjc

Should both always take place? One preeced the other? What are your thoughts on this? #ESHREjc

It's a great result even if the answer is still "maybe". Very different from being undecided. And aids may help saving a lot of time #ESHREjc

But how can we distill the information that is relevant to our specific needs and circumstances? This is where decision tools have value #ESHREjc

@maclaudiaa @NoemiSalme30386 @OmarRawi89 @juanjo_fraire @kashish__ @Saara_riibeiro @GLiperis @DKalaitzopoulos @FabrizzioHorta @zoyaalii_ @ESHRE Totally agree! The power to make an informed choice — including the choice not to proceed — is a win in itself. Sometimes the real value isn’t in doing, but in understanding. #ESHREjc

Q1: A decision aid for elective egg freezing reduced decisional conflict but showed no long-term benefit, likely due to short follow-up🤔. Prior work (Sandhu et al., 2023) showed median decision time is ~2 years.🗓️ Should future studies be tailored by age & urgency? 🚨 #ESHREJC

Another great suggestion: Normalize what you need to say, using a phrase like “other patients have wondered about…” Be genuine and straightforward because AYAs can always tell when you are dancing around a topic @AlisonMaryBaker #ayacsm #ayacancercongress

A take home from @AYAGlobalCancer congress is how privileged we are in Au when it comes to #cancercare in terms of medical funding, the cancer services (go #CNCs), and that we are not at war 😢 (Also, amazing people are doing amazing things to help address disadvantage.)
