As more people rely on #ChatGPT important to understand how it works. Excellent example of the differences in capability (high in this case, references in correct format) vs. alignment (low, not generating exactly what we want) which define large language model success.

For the first example: Incorrect authors, publication year, journal, volume, issue, pages, DOI. Others: the authors often correct, but journal, issue, pages, DOI often incorrect.
