The gap between thinking you can play somewhere, and actually being able to play there has never been further apart. We need more youth coaches that give honest evaluations instead of worrying about squeezing money out of players. More players should be watching college games.

RPE is descriptive, not prescriptive. It tells you how hard a set actually was once it’s completed — not necessarily how hard it should have been before you start. Used prescriptively, it relies on your ability to predict effort—which fluctuates more than many think it does.
