Here’s what The Budget Said says about CDB : The budget reaffirms the government’s intention to lower barriers for Canadians accessing the benefit by helping offset the cost of applying for the Disability Tax Credit, which is required for eligibility. It allocates $115.7

We are also pleased to see that the government is bringing forward legislation to exempt the CDB from being treated as income under the Income Tax Act, to help ensure recipients keep the full value of their benefit - something that DWP has repeatedly advocated for. #Budget2025

This new one-time $150 pymt is a welcome move - recognizing that red tape is a barrier in itself. However, it does not expand eligibility or remove the DTC barrier that continues to exclude many. Progress on access must now become progress on inclusion.
