The hotel I swim at put in automatic doors during lockdown. I hadn’t realised how difficult I found the old doors until they weren’t there any more. Disabled people cope with so much to problem solve barriers, it becomes second nature. We shouldn’t have to internalise bad access.

“I don’t see your disability” is not a compliment. See the disability. Don’t devalue disabled people.

Create spaces which enable disabled people to speak for themselves on their own terms, not be spoken for or about. Disabled people are the experts.

To all those supporting moves to be more green in our cities, please remember the solutions you champion are all either totally inaccessible to many disabled people or too expensive to be available to them. Bike - ÂŁ100 for a basic? Handcycle? ÂŁ2.5K minumum. For example.

We're putting together an Inclusive Design Balance to advise designers on how to ensure inclusivity in what they do. We are in the early stages - But we are open to any thoughts on what consumers want to see more of. Send us a DM to chat more 😀. #InclusiveDesign

Why is adaptive technology so clunky and ugly all the time? I may want accessible technology, but I would quite like it to be sleek and lightweight and attractive! Just like all the tech marketed at the mass public.

There are numerous tried and tested benefits to making your site accessible but above all else, it’s just the right thing to do. Inaccessibility leads to exclusion. That statement alone should motivate change.

Further to our post of the new @Nike Go FlyEase last week we agree in questioning the lack of disability in the announcement. What are your thoughts? When disability design erases disabled people. https://t.co/zTZv8cQz9A via @slate #InclusiveDesign #IsItInclusive

Did you know that 40% of people over age 50+ in the UK have some level of hearing loss ( https://t.co/IprCVeHwDV)... When creating inclusive products and services it is important to make considerations of the changes throughout people's lives. #InclusiveDesign #DesignEquality

By Daisy Pope I think it is safe to say that we are all somewhat aware of injustices people in our society have faced throughout history. Most of us learn about the suffragettes fight for the right...
