I first flew in 1986. On that flight i was dropped injuring myself & my wheelchair was broken. The last time I flew I was dropped, breaking my leg & my wheelchair was broken too. I decided to stop flying at that point, shrinking my world & career. #RightsOnFlights.

Today I raised the issue/question that if our government, media & society want disabled people to get out to work, they should also expect us to want to spend our income how we want where we want with who we want. Full access to everything nondisabled people have!.

A fantastic day celebrating #DisabilityPrideMonth at Surrey Council with a fantastic panel of disabled activists. Meeting the young campaigners was so inspirational. All generators need to work together to ensure they have a brighter future.

Up early again to take part in a #DisabilityPride panel discussion as part of Surrey Council's celebration of the month. Speaking as the elder statesman of the disabled community is going to be fun but tinged with sadness at the pace of change. @phab_charity.

Heard today about the racist attacks that people from different ethnic backgrounds receive when they try to get out into the countryside. What is wrong with people? The beauty of nature should be for everyone. Utterly despicable.

Up super early to travel to my home town of Luton. Speaking at an event celebrating & promoting improved access to Chiltern Hills with @ChilternsNL. So proud of the work @phab_charity have been doing in partnership to encourage disabled people to get out in nature.

Was planning a busy working day but might have to postpone it until later this week. Got a busy day tomorrow & Wednesday, speaking at conferences, so going to save my energy. Pacing is vital.

Saw another post complaining about "people pretending to be disabled". If anyone is doing this & getting benefits, it's the system's fault not disabled people's. Let's stop having a go at disabled people & vent at the DWP & the systems that might be being played.

Important to note my pain is caused by nerve roots stripped of the covering trapped in scar tissue. When I have an infection, injury or get hot the scar tissue swells & bingo, added pain. Then it's wait until the swelling goes down. Hey ho.

Last night my pain got so bad I honestly wished I wasn't here. I finally got some sleep at 8.30am. It eased a little but hey, free car & £1000s of benefits.

It's really important to remember that the Equality Act protects your rights to practice your religion but not to use it to discriminate against others. I'd argue the real issue is access. Camden Council to fight trans colours legal challenge - BBC News

A huge part of my youth is going. The Point was the first accessible nightclub I ever went to, 10 accessible cinema screens & loads of restaurants. So many wonderful nights. Milton Keynes cinema The Point to be demolished for new flats - BBC News
