Indigenous peoples across the country, including PEI are still affected by the intergenerational trauma from residential schools. The Province is advancing towards reconciliation and we look forward to continuing this important work with our Island’s Indigenous communities #NDTR

It is important that all Islanders take the time to learn about the history and legacy of residential schools, especially today on National Day for Truth and Reconciliation #EveryChildMatters

I’d also like to thank the crews from Ontario, Newfoundland and New Brunswick who are now in the province assisting Maritime Electric crews (4/4)

There are over 60 crews from @MECLPEI out on the roads, in full assessment mode to record the damage #Fiona caused. In total, there will be over 100 crews on the Island in the coming days. This is double the number of crews we had for Hurricane Dorian in 2019 (3/4)

We received confirmation this afternoon that we will have 100 military personnel on the ground today + ready to assist us starting tomorrow morning   @PEIPublicSafety continues to assess damages + work with community partners across the province to assist Islanders in need (2/4)

Over the past two days, I’ve been in touch with @L_MacAulay @DLeBlancNB and Prime Minister @JustinTrudeau. PEI made an immediate request for military assistance with recovery from #HurricaneFiona (1/4)

Islanders, please stay at home as we continue to assess the damage Fiona has caused. Thank you to our first responders across the province who are still tending to emergencies as they happen. Once it is safe for clean up crews to head out, they will do so.

This morning, Cabinet met to approve the proclamation to formally proclaim the successor to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Following the cabinet meeting, Her Honour, gave royal assent to the proclamation, making King Charles III the new monarch. Long live the King!

It was a busy - but rainy - day in West Prince yesterday! Great to join Acadians from across the region in DeBlois for the kick-off of #NationalAcadianDay, followed by lunch at Our Family Traditions, and a benefit concert at the Stompin’ Tom Centre in Skinner’s Pond
