This thread has comments from people who are desperate and suicidal at the news of the latest 'crackdown' on benefits. These kinds of changes are always much more harmful than helpful. It feels like 2010/11 again but worse, because things have already been cut to the bone.
I definitely feel suicidal when thinking about the Labour government taking away my PIP Disability Benefit. It was a huge amount of effort getting it. It's the only money that I don't get from my wife. I often feel as if life isn't worth living under this cruel Labour government.

Really important evidence being given by @FaziletHadi here - the medical model of disability is extremely influential in health care and it's vital medics have an understanding of the social model too, to support and value disabled people's lives. #AssistedDying.
āI find the NHS one of the organisations and institutions in this country that is least comfortable with disability. I could get better equality, probably, at my railway stationā - Fazilet talks of the culture shift needed in the NHS and safeguarding concerns this raises

Pleased to share a new blog exploring transš³ļøāā§ļø healthcare by my excellent colleague, Frank.@TheKingsFund . #TransHealth #NHS .

Frank Rigby highlights the glaring lack of evidence on trans health care, and calls for more data and patient stories to inform policy decisions.

The debate on assisted dying took place recently. But do people have access to the care and support they need to live well too?

Exactly this - we need a lot more focus on the right to live well, not just to die well.
On a day that a bill to legalise assisted dying is released, I'm sat in bed with a body wracked with pain, no idea when I might be getting any treatment & if that treatment will work. Wish there'd been an announcement of a bill to provide pain management that works for all too.
