In just a handful of bullpens, Isaac Sullivan has made significant strides with his lower half. Here’s how he went from being stuck over the rubber to creating more force and momentum down the mound — backed by NewtForce data. 🧵@alphabsb @TBros11 @DBachman22 @isaacsullivan26

Too many midweek "touch & feel" pens lack purpose. The reality of the situation is that you have a small window to execute what matters. it'll look different from outing/outing but either way- Don't waste it. Here are different ways to get more out of your next side session🧵

As summer travel ball is winding down, I get asked by parents whether their pitcher should do a full shut down or deload. @alphabsb @DBachman22 There are many factors to consider so here is a thread to talk through this🧵

We are not affiliated in any way with a travel organization. For years we have intentionally not added travel teams to remain a neutral resource that orgs feel comfortable sending their players to, without fear of us trying to take them for our own teams. If you don’t see the

🩻 Rib cage provides the foundation for the scap/shoulder complex. HOW we create that motion matters. 360 degrees of expansion/compression is needed to sequence rotation efficiently. Ability to create/change shape is crucial for health/performance.⚾️
T-spine rotation, extension and flexion aren’t just “nice-to-haves” for pitchers — they’re foundational. When restricted, the body compensates elsewhere — often at the shoulder or lumbar spine — increasing injury risk and decreasing performance. 🗣️ @nolan_rappe15

5 hours of sleep, 2 energy drinks and 1/2 a meal before your bullpen is not “grinding”. It’s self-sabotage.

@jakegaerke getting after it after his outing 💪🏻 It can be tough to manage in-season lifting when you’re coming out of the bullpen with an unpredictable throwing schedule. One way to stay on top strength/power work is to lift after a short relief appearance. Pairing high

It’s easy to get lost w/ pitch profiles in this ‘pitch design’ era. Skenes a has 4 seam metrics that if brushed over- could be called “dead” Skenes gets away with this by 1. Averaging 98.2 mph 2. Completely different than sinker 3. 7 pitch arsenal Difference + usage > Metrics
Paul Skenes was an absolute DOG tonight: 6.0 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 6 K, 4 BB vs. the Cardinals, stacking red-hot proStuff+ scores—137 on his sweeper and slider, 122 on his splitter. Dominance on full display. Cy Young Skenes.

🧵 Pitch manipulation > pitch addition On March 7, in a spring training game vs. the Angels, Seth Lugo threw 2.2 innings and displayed 9 different pitch profiles. Over 10 MLB seasons, he’s mastered one thing above all: ➡️ Ball manipulation. @alphabsb
