Balancing the velocity of the chosen lifts, movements, correctives, etc throughout an annual training cycle is essential for both health and performance. Understand what the goal of the intervention is and the tissue implications of that goal.
Neurology vs Physiology - What does it mean, and why does it matter? 🤔 @nolan_rappe15 When neurology outpaces physiology, rehab can take a dangerous turn. During the TJ rehab and RTT process, the nervous system often adapts faster than the healing tissues. The brain regains

Always going to be a human element of feel to analyze the intangibles. Can’t computer model your way around that one. At the end of the day we are dealing with people and they certainly aren’t made of only 0s and 1s.
At a time where many organizations are cutting — or outright eliminating — pro scouting departments in lieu of programming and projection models, Chaim Bloom has said he'd prefer to use both. "I don’t see it as either or. I don’t think it can be." #STLCards

Time of the year is one of the most influential factors we have when choosing loading strategy, frequency, and volume. A comprehensive assessment process helps to narrow that down further. Your off-season sets the tone for in-season. Work hard. Work smart. Do you have a plan yet?
Need a good reset button after a long season? We look to tempo-based lifts to take pressure off the connective tissue and get the stimulus back into the muscle belly. Click to hear some thoughts from PPP Performance Coordinator @nolan_rappe15. #DominateTheZone

A few thoughts: 🧠 Good on MLB for this one. Any pitching coach/throwing trainer/facility with half a clue would not have their high school athlete built up throwing pens by Jan 1 UNLESS they have to throw in a showcase event. I’ve watched too many of those kids (most
News: MLB is banning team officials from watching amateur players or collecting video and data on them for a monthslong period over the winter, saying year-round play “is putting young players at a dramatic risk of future injury.” Story free at ESPN:

The higher up you go, the harder it becomes to alter mechanics. Especially as it pertains to the output or uniqueness that helps get someone paid to do their job. Looking into physical capacity should be the first step while altering mechanics should be done as a last resort.
Better mechanics = decreased injur... NOT SO FAST In reality, improving mechanics may lead to short term improvements, but long term, this might this path actually increase injury risk??? Here’s the cycle pitchers fall into. 🧵👇
