I'm Cronutt the Sweet Boy #SeaLion , seizure free and happy again. A huge fan of @kswilcox and @BarabanLab
Sausalito, California
Joined October 2020
I catch a silvery, slippery fish, As it darts past my nose, And I feel it, Sliding smoothly down my throat. I live a comfortable life, Though I am still wary of predators. My motto is simple; East, Sleep, and Play.

Go little rockstar! @Cronutt1 Cronutt the sea lion is cured of epilepsy after breakthrough treatment https://t.co/Vcli6WOrOw via @MailOnline

Surgeons conducted an experimental therapy that transplanted healthy pig brain cells into Cornutt's brain to cure his epilepsy. Nearly 16 months after the operation and Cronutt has not had an episode.

In Oct. 2020, @Cronutt1, a sea lion, received a transplant of pig brain cells to treat his epilepsy. More than a year later, he is seizure-free. In a piece for @NatGeo, KSJ Project fellow @emilylmullin asks: Could this therapy work for humans? https://t.co/SaEnbz9qff

Today’s #AdventChampions are the @BarabanLab and their friend @Cronutt1 the sea lion, who is now over one-year seizure-free thanks to epilepsy surgery! We were delighted to hear that Crontt has also recently acquired a new female "friend" called Missy💘 https://t.co/fisVcebLtA

@christingodale @AmEpilepsySoc @Cronutt1 Also please keep in mind @Cronutt1 is a rescued wildlife animal with naturally occurring epilepsy. . . and not an experimental model in a laboratory environment

Yay @Cronutt1 🦭!!!! “On Oct 6th 2020, a group of veterinarians, neurosurgeons and scientists gathered to xenotransplant porcine #MGE cells into an epileptic sea lion named @Cronutt1. Today, one year later Cronutt lives a "seizure free, no side effects" life”
Looking back on this year, we cannot help but believe this may be an actual path to a disease-modifying #Epilepsy cure | @CureEpilepsy @AmEpilepsySoc @NeurosurgUCSF @sixflagsDK @curedravet
