I’m excited to share an awesome new study from @JacNeuro (an amazing grad student and #DSPAN scholar!!!) using GluSnFR imaging after TBI. She found specific spatiotemporal changes in glutamate that can guide our therapeutic strategies. https://t.co/koMPYeO6uN

We hope to leverage this finding to use metabolic approaches to restore inhibitory function after many brain insults!

Why are parvalbumin interneurons lost across neurological disease? ⁦@SadiQuinones⁩ shows that PV-INs lose PGC1a after brain injury (in humans!) that controls a newly identified PV-identify gene module. Metabolism, ion channels, and ECM are linked!

Nature / Springer editors went on strike - they work hard with scientists to improve the impact of our work and I’m very grateful for their efforts! They should be compensated, it’s not an easy job
