My son went 3-for-3 with a 3-run double and got his very first game ball after our win today. Now we’re going to see “Field of Dreams” on the big screen in Pittsburgh. Phenomenal Father’s Day with my boy.

As stupid as it sounds, maybe Pirates should trade Skenes right now. Can you imagine haul they’d get in return for young superstar? Maybe 3-4 everyday players (not prospects) and 1-2 pitchers. Hell, they can’t with him (lost 6 of his 9 starts). Could remake team trading one guy.

Paul Skenes reflects on his start 🗣️. "Could have been better. being able to get out of there with one run is a good thing, but [if] we're more efficient, maybe we go seven, maybe we go eight.". @mearshannah_

Good grief, it’s about time. Shelton was one of the worst managers in MLB history from a win percentage standpoint. It wasn’t all his fault because the organization is cheap as they come. Next up: Ben Cherington. And if we’re wishing out loud: #selltheteam.

Derek Shelton has been relieved of his duties as Pirates Manager. Pirates Bench Coach, Don Kelly, has been named manager.

The Pirates can’t even win with Paul Skenes on the mound. He’s now 3-4, and the Pirates have lost five of the eight games he’s started this season. Despite having a 2.77 ERA. It takes a very special team to absolutely suck to the point where you’re wasting a generational talent.

I saw Ben Cherington trending and was hoping upon hope that he had been fired by the Pirates. Nope. Damn.

James Franklin is a very good coach. He’s accomplished so much and seems to be on verge of taking another big step. But it’s this kind of nonsense that makes you think he is still incredibly insecure and thin skinned. It’s happened numerous times now, and it’s always a bad look.

.@NeilRudel @CoryGiger Thoughts? Extremely thin skin for a head coach at an elite school.

The lesson?.Don’t be a loudmouth arrogant punk with a loudmouth arrogant punk father. NFL teams don’t want to deal with all that crap with the most important position in all of sports.

This guy is one of the most garbage managers in the history of MLB. He’s absolute trash. No way he should have a job. But yeah, keep running out dudes hitting .128 like Suwinski, who isn’t even a major league player. Shelton should have been fired loooooong ago.

Shelton didnt use McCutchen as pinch hitter late in game. Cutch throws shade at Shelton for not being in lineup today. Something’s off here. I’m on Cutch’s side.

The Pirates have to have some of the dumbest people in professional sports working for them. It’s one idiotic PR blunder after another. AGAIN I ask: Why on earth would anybody still be a Pirates fan at this point?.Get a divorce. Move on with your life!!!!

You know what’s really disgusting? Many cult members still loved Jim Jones even as they drank the Kool-Aid that killed them. History repeats itself.

All this stuff below matters. But none of this has ever been PSU’s biggest weakness. Weakness has always been Franklin’s gameday coaching. Predictable, conservative, bad decisions in clutch, adjustments take too long. If all else is fixed, Franklin himself now has to step up.

For much of James Franklin’s tenure, Penn State didn’t act like a school that cared about football as much as, say, Ohio State. Franklin believes Penn State has that kind of alignment now. Will it make the difference?.

Can't get Bucs on MLBTV because I'm in a "local" market to Tampa Bay. My cable carrier doesn't carry the "local" station, FanDuel Sun. I can stream FanDuel Sun but I used my free 7-day subscription up last year watching the Pirates. So. $19.99 to watch three Pirates games.

This was inevitable after the incredibly stupid decision by the university to drop to Division III. I have as much respect for Rob Krimmel as any person I’ve dealt with in my 30-year media career. Great person, great coach. SFU leaders should be ashamed.

If you think I’m nuts, it was only 40 years ago that $1 million was a great salary in pro sports. Thirty years from now, we’ll look back on these relatively smaller salaries these college athletes are making with amazement.

Talked about this on my radio show today. Tell me if you think I’m crazy. At some point, will there be college athlete(s) making $30 or $40 million a year?.I could see it in 25-30 years, as insanity continues. Say someone like an Arch Manning in 30 years, how much could he make?.
