This is a really good, fair explanation of the #FamilyFarmTax issue by @pkelso on @SkyNews The only caveat that I will add is that up until now farmers have been effectively advised to do nothing because all options like the 7 year rule etc have potential stings in their tails

Very well put by @ProagriLtd today in Parliament. People need to understand the bigger picture and how this could decimate UK food production and damage self sufficiency too.
NFU president Tom Bradshaw has been on point and spoken quite beautifully at times during the Efra committee today on the family farm tax. As well as the human impact of the Budget, he said it feels like the relationship between Government and farmers has been 'broken'.

When its necessary for Efra to signpost farmers access to mental health & financial crisis support, something has clearly gone badly wrong with policy. #FamilyFarmTax

This isn’t going to go away. Government can either help farmers deliver on food, the environment & climate in partnership, or it can double down, fail to achieve on any of those goals, and suffer this as a continuous running sore. @Keir_Starmer @RachelReevesMP @SteveReedMP

Speaking today at the @CommonsEFRA inquiry into the future of farming, NFU President Tom Bradshaw (@ProagriLtd) provided evidence to the Committee on how the #FamilyFarmTax will devastate British agriculture. 🧵 1/4

Interestingly we had a scientist&environmentalist come up to us today expressing his understandable fear of the irreversible damage the #FamilyFarmTax could do to the environment and biodiversity. As well as producing food, family farms are custodians of the countryside.

Tom, absolutely magnificent from you today, spoken from the heart & with clarity, it’s about time some of these senior @UKLabour MPs took note & acted accordingly. Well done @ProagriLtd for showing such grace under pressure, think my words would be echoed by many. 👏
Listening to the heartfelt evidence given today by farming leaders on changes to inheritance tax rules for farms. I was asking questions as a guest of the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Committee.

It frankly beggars belief that the government has published a a 464 page report on food security today without a single mention of their damaging family farm tax. Farmers are vital to our food security - ministers must recognise that instead of sweeping it under the carpet.

It's good to see NGOs and others coming out to support nature friendly farming. If Government wants to deliver on its nature and climate targets it will need to be helping farmers do it through public money for public goods.
Green champions, including @WildlifeTrusts and @WWF_UK, are urging the Government to fix our broken agricultural system. It’s time to support farmers in embracing nature-friendly practices that protect our planet and secure our future.

The Government should ensure fair supply chains & pledge faster, bigger ELM funding - vital reforms to boost nature, & give stability for farming communities🧑🌾 We stand with @WildlifeTrusts, @wwf_uk, @SoilAssociation to back a thriving farming future👇 https://t.co/4lJfN86zbE
