In addition of fibrosis regression and NASH resolution, semaglutide provided metabolic and weight-loss benefits. A reminder: MASH is not just a liver disease. It’s a systemic one. We are entering an era of integrated cardio-hepatic-metabolic therapy.
Good news for patients with MASH: semagluide finally improves histology ! FDA approval is closer. Interestingly, placebo improved histology despite minimal weight loss. Why ? Other changes in lifestyle during the trial ? Alcohol, smoking, exercise. Intriguing.
