Australia's road toll heading in the wrong direction Research shows larger vehicles, especially with higher bonnets, increase risks for vulnerable road users (VRUs) like pedestrians and cyclists - and that particularly includes children and the elderly https://t.co/6V2LXLWWXc
We need people safety commissions, not road safety commissions 5 year old boy killed on quiet urban back road, Nishioka Way in Broome 😢 Increasingly, as cars get bigger, peeps most at risk of being killed are not in the car Reports rarely mention this https://t.co/B8FletjstH

As I state in this Guardian article: “WA Labor had been more focused on supporting expanded fossil fuel developments – ie Woodside’s North-West Shelf gas exporting facility – than on ensuring a rapid expansion of renewable energy”. Foot off the hose please

Exclusive: Government document shows electricity from large-scale renewables has flatlined, with one campaigner saying pipeline has ‘little sign of life’

Thank you America, thank you for your support, thank you for this visit. Thank you @POTUS, Congress, and the American people. Ukraine needs just and lasting peace, and we are working exactly for that.

👀Have you spotted our billboard in Claremont, WA? Gas, oil and coal are health hazards. Similar to addressing the health impacts of tobacco by first quitting smoking, to address the health impacts of fossil fuels we must first quit coal, oil and gas. https://t.co/zODsVFx8x1

Telegraph: “there aren’t enough EV chargers!” Gov and industry: “ok, we’ll build lots more chargers” Telegraph: “stop building EV chargers because, erm, potholes!” (Article doesn’t cite any evidence that building more chargers will result in more potholes)

We’re seeing the state capture of political parties by fossil fuel companies. They’re putting short term profits ahead of protecting the people and places we love. We need the moral courage to end this and legislate a duty of care to young people. https://t.co/d6svDfEKx9

@RogerCookMLA says: “Anyone who is serious about keeping household bills affordable in WA knows we will need gas in our energy mix for years to come.” So are we just going to ignore the fact multiple agencies have stated it’s cheaper to use electricity than gas?

Even energy companies like @HorizonPower_WA know that gas is on the way out. The Esperance electrification project was a perfect example of this.
So who do you think is most likely to be “full of hot air”: a newspaper editor protecting his bosses gas interests or the WA Council of Social Services backing in the strong evidence that gas free homes are better for health and cheaper to run? https://t.co/vURV9sPiGa

Every day WA demonstrates the fact it’s run by companies like @WoodsideEnergy Whether it’s handicapping the @EPA_WA or sending counter terrorism units to go after non-violent protestors, this state never fails to show its true colours. #ClimateEmergency

At least @wamuseum is on the right side of history and recognises the significance of climate protests and the discussion that is prompted from unorthodox action. Meanwhile both sides of WA government continue to act as Gas industry representatives https://t.co/PH39b0kZAq

Sometimes I run out of ways to express my exasperation and frustration with WA on climate action. Today’s one of those days.
Emissions from Woodside’s new Burrup Hub gas projects are so massive - over 6 BILION tonnes - the WA Government’s solution is to stop assessing the emissions! And therefore not require Woodside to reduce their emissions… which btw will save Woodside $100s of millions.
