Small businesses employ millions yet are facing⬆️costs & ⬆️red tape. Sen Lambie & I negotiated a review to improve & streamline 30+ definitions of small business. Disappointed it didn't put forward solutions. A govt serious about productivity must fix this.

The gas market needs the review announced by the govt. It’s failing Australians. > 75% of our gas is shipped offshore while households and manufacturers pay through the nose. But we don’t need new gas. We need a fair share from the gas we already export.

Procurement should be fair, transparent and competitive. But in 2024-25, over half of panel contracts went to just one supplier - an alarm bell for market competition. In one case, in 85% of panel procurements, only a single supplier was approached 🤯.

I support these calls from industry to speed up & reduce red tape in new social & affordable housing delivery. Almost 2 yrs after establishment, HAFF still processing round 1 projects. Round 2 closed 31 Jan, successful projects still not announced . Demand is acute + urgent

Labor is completely captured by gas interests. Against warnings from scientists and even their own ministers, they waved through fracking the Beetaloo for a foreign company. 🇦🇺 deserves enviro laws that work-and a govt with the backbone to enforce them.

The rules have changed to allow 24,000 LGBTQI+ people to safely donate blood. For decades, the rules have excluded people based on who they are, rather than on individual risks. This is an overdue sensible change that will remove stigma & ⬆️ blood supply.

🇺🇸 is reviewing AUKUS. So is 🇬🇧. 🇦🇺 is the only partner yet to conduct a review. It's beyond time for us to have a sensible & sober look at AUKUS and if/how it best serves our national interest. A transparent review is common sense and long overdue.

🇦🇺 music is booming overseas, but has gone quiet here. Algorithms curate us mostly 🇺🇸 acts, and it risks drowning out the next gen of 🇦🇺 artists from breaking through. If we don't want to lose our sound, we need to get serious about a prominence strategy.

Frontline orgs doing essential work in our community need longer term, more adequate funding cycles. While this reprieve is welcome & something I’ve pushed for it needs to go further to put these orgs on a sustainable footing to plan for the future.

We can't delay releasing more Home Care Packages - at last count, 80,000 seniors were on the wait list. Without support, ppl are more likely to end up in hospital or in permanent aged care. I'm urging Govt to release packages now as they promised.

We don’t have a gas shortage, we have a gas export problem. The capture of Labor by the gas industry continues - madness to be pushing for new gas projects to supply 🇦🇺 sometime in the future rather than requiring uncontracted gas to be provided to 🇦🇺.
