The Euro-American neocon establishment refuses to recognize this as a valid analogy. They view the Euro-American global order as benign, inevitable, and the rightful stewards of the world. Any opposition to that is ontologically evil.
Had Russia meddled in Mexico in the same way the US meddled in Ukraine & resolved to have Mexico join some kind of Russian-run military alliance, the US would surely have invaded Mexico. Mark of an aggressor nation: One standard for itself, another standard for other nations.
