Leaders do not point fingers. They set standards. It is not the rookie’s job to carry the load. Leaders prepare them, challenge them, and help them grow. That is what real leadership looks like.

Sad day for High School sports as Paul was as good as they come! Such a class act and a true professional……and also a VERY proud SPARTAN alum!! Thanks for all you did for the student-athletes of Howell Central and for how you always treated me. Best of luck to you.
Guess it's official - I was caught up in the latest rounds of cuts by lee enterprises and yesterday was my last day at STLtoday. I want to thank @STLhssports, @ChrisGove101 and @overbey13 for allowing me to live out my high school dream and work for my hometown paper.

Maybe an unpopular take but…stop making teenagers wake up at 5am to go lift/workout before school. Unless they’re asleep by 9pm, I promise you that them getting 8 hours of sleep will be more beneficial for them than some 45 minute workout before school.

Appreciate the NOW. Rick Pitino is spot on. Every player’s hourglass runs out faster than they think. One day, the practices, the games, the grind - it’s all gone. Cherish every rep, every moment, every opportunity. Don’t waste your sand. ⏳

23 years ago today, this historical ceremonial first pitch took place, and as silly as it sounds, it was important for George Bush to throw a strike in this moment

This angle shows how active Machado is. In a standard bunt defense so he is creeping pre-pitch, sees the bunt is not coming so he readjusts his feet, now anticipating a swing. So much young 3B can learn from this angle.

Glove presentation by Machado on point as he fields one-handed, 3-o'clock arm slot on the perfect feed as he is going away from 2B. Second basemen with an abbreviate LRL footwork combo due to timing. Perfection.
THE @PADRES ARE HEADING TO THE #POSTSEASON THANKS TO THIS GAME-ENDING TRIPLE PLAY 🤯 ARE YOU KIDDING?!?!!?

From what I've seen, BY FAR the biggest separator in HS is physicality + motor / horsepower We see a lot of skilled players at 160lb.. But can't hit the ball hard enough or throw it hard enough (Will be an outlier or two) Weightroom -> Eat -> Impact the ball -> Turn heads

Train to throw hard, train to throw far. Even at the youth ages. Nobody ever said a defensive player has too good of an arm, but they definitely say it’s bad when you have a noodle. And that exchange is practiced as well. Silly quick.

Bobby Witt Jr. talking about following the six F’s of fielding Check out the thread I made on this last year for a step by step breakdown ⬇️
Francisco Lindor has been my favorite infielder to watch since he came up with Cleveland. Here is a breakdown of why I think he is consistently one of the best infielders to watch in the MLB using Perry Hill’s 6 F’s of Fielding in my own words. A 🧵 for infielders:
