Labour’s transformational Renters’ Rights Bill has just received Royal Assent – that means it is now an Act of Parliament and the law. The Act levels decisively the playing field between landlord and tenant and will improve the lives of millions of renters across the country.

At Executive today, we discussed and agreed key plans for 1,500+ new social rent and affordable homes. 🏡 420 affordable homes at Wythenshawe Civic 🏘 400 affordable homes in and around Gorton District Centre 🏡 713 affordable homes on other Council owned sites across the city.

On World Homeless Day- an extra £84 Million from @mhclg to help tackle homelessness. Under the Tories, homelessness shamefully skyrocketed. In Manchester we’re working with a @UKLabour Govt to reverse this trend and make sure all Mancunians have a decent secure affordable home

Fantastic to see all these social and affordable homes being built across 5 different Project 500 sites in Higher Blackley, Crumpsall and Harpurhey - thank you to local @McrLabour councillors who have helped support and champion the provision of new social housing in their wards.

We visited a number of Project 500 sites today. In Higher Blackley, 34 affordable homes, including 22 for social rent, are being built across two sites in the ward. These much needed affordable and energy efficient homes will be great for local residents in North Manchester.🏡
