Project 500 is our innovative approach to use small plots of @ManCityCouncil owned land to build social and affordable housing. In 15 wards, we are building 357 homes in Phase 1, with a further 160 homes in Phase 2 - delivering new social housing for many local residents.🏡🏘
We have been working with the city's housing providers on Project 500 - using Council land to build genuinely affordable homes. Phase 2 is now underway and we're on track to surpass the initial 500 home target. Find out more about the project at https://t.co/p4ixxjwu77

To the vast majority of renters and landlords who play by the rules, this government has got your back. To those rogue landlords that don’t, your time is up.

Too many people in our city still face homelessness, despite our best efforts. We’re working hard to eradicate preventable homelessness in our city. Tonight I’m joining a @McrLabour team raising cash for @BoothCentre by sleeping out in the mcr rain 🙏 https://t.co/tONPyx8ug3

Pleased to see this change coming into effect as part of the @UKLabour Renters' Rights Act. Section 21, 'No-fault' evictions are the biggest cause of homelessness in Manchester. A welcome change for the 90,000 households who are tenants in the private rental sector in our city.🏡

For too long, families have been stuck in temporary accommodation and on never-ending waiting lists. We're changing this. Our £39bn Social and Affordable Homes Programme will deliver at least 60% social rent homes – helping families find the home they need.

New today: we've cut waiting lists by 16,000 this month – meaning faster care and less worry for patients. The past year is the first time in 15 years that waiting lists have fallen. There's a way to go, but we're getting our NHS on the road to recovery.
