👇🏽 It’s a BIG deal. Wilson was a hateful white supremacist who refused to speak out about lynching, and Princeton was know as the only Jim Crow university in the North because of him. Bye! (1912, NY Age)
Five years ago, I wrote that Woodrow Wilson's name should fall from Princeton University because of his racist legacy.
This week, it finally happened: The School of Public and International Affairs voted to remove Wilson's name from their school.

Most folks know about Jesse Owens and his amazing 4 gold medals in Berlin's 1936 Olympics (100m/200m/broad jump/relay), but few realize that black athletes ALSO won gold in the 400m (Archie Williams), 800m (John Woodruff), and high jump (Cornelius Johnson) during that Olympiad!

I feel encouraged about yesterday. Never seen so many peaceful protesters rallying in multiple cities for a single cause. Police in Flint and NJ marching with their neighbors was the move. White people reaching out took heart. Berlin, Toronto. Yes, but still long long way to go.
