I am so tired I just found myself thinking I should check my battery level and maybe plug myself in. Maybe I spend too much time on my phone? 🙄🤔🤣 #online.

Unless your library is led by those with brain-rot and they limit access and throw out resources. Or the hours are limited due to budget cuts. 😞.

As the university system collapses and millions succumb to tech-induced brain rot, the concept of the autodidact—a self-educated person who loves learning for its own sake—will become more important than ever. Read widely. Form study groups. Let the library be your college.

A complete stranger just commiserated with me about my past bad boss library story, and understood one of my biggest struggles there. Even almost 2 years later, that feels good, to be reminded it wasn’t just me and others understand. #badboss #librarylife.

Kerr County applied for federal grants to build a warning system to protect residents from flash floods. Under the Trump administration, that kind of funding is drying up.

Thanking my past self for getting that “backup” certification long ago and having the smarts and guts to use it a couple years ago to get out of a toxic library work situation. Life is finally better. #leavinglibraries #librarylife.

Be taken seriously, I mean. I am trying to help them from my relatively free position as a non-employee.

Made an anonymous comment today at the library I used to work at, because I know that a single patron comment can override comments and ideas by multiple staff people. 🙄 #librarylife.

Anyone in libraryland who can help me find peace with the fact that the hard work I did (and succeeded in!) while working in a toxic environment did actually help the library, and things are better, even though I had to leave and am now isolated from my chosen profession? #sad.

I could be glad that some of the worst things (throwing out historic documents after scanning because digital is better! (For example) were averted, and I made a difference. But I am completely out of the picture due to hostile work environment and I miss my profession.

I taught and educated and advocated until I was exhausted. After I left, she could say “see? I wasn’t going to do any of those silly things they said I was going to do!! Now I am going to do XYZ because I am an expert.” And is doing more reasonable things now. It hurts my heart.

This boss had some exceptionally bad ideas and misunderstandings about libraries. Boss absolutely didn’t want to listen or publicly acknowledge my knowledge. I had an opportunity to get out, and now she uses my ideas and info while saying I was alarmist. 🙄😔 #leavinglibraries.

My old library announced they were bringing back the thing that I wanted to do, that bad boss didn’t allow me to do, and I fought to keep before I left. Now new employee gets to do it. It was a dream job for me and bad boss kept it from me. Why can’t I let it go?? #sad #badboss.

I made a blue sky account. Find me over at Educated Adult. I miss the #librarylife #librarytwitter community this once was, but it’s sad here now. And I am no longer a librarian. Join me there? #exodus #leaving.
