1.03 million viewers watched the #StockholmDL on BBC1 yesterday. Just to emphasise the importance of it being on a main channel, the same meet drew just 19,300 viewers on Eurosport last year (although on a Thursday night). That’s around a 98% increase?!.

World Athletics need to sort this out. The invites should go to the athlete first, not the federation. And if the federation don’t want to select the athlete, they should be allowed to compete for their nation as an individual, separate from the governing body. It’s very simple.

Just for context, that’s the fastest time Jonnie Peacock has run in a Paralympic final. It’s also the first time that anyone other than Peacock has broken 11 seconds in a Paralympic final. And there were 4 of them! 😅😅.

I’ve been banging this drum for a while now. If the WA invite is rejected by the governing body, it should then be offered to the athlete as an individual. If they accept, they fund their own trip, but still get to represent their nation (not NGB). I’m sure they’d accept that!.
Genuine question: why don't governing bodies just allow lower-ranked athletes to pay their own way to championships?. Is it just because performance directors can report back to say X% of athletes made finals so we fared better than Y sport and thereby look after their jobs?.

Today was my final day working for IMG. 15 countries, 6 Wimbledon’s & 1 Asian Games over the last 12 years!. I’ve been so lucky to meet some incredible sport stars, especially on my dream job at Trans World Sport. Sky Sports awaits! 🎾. I look so young on first day in 2011! 😂

I'm still furious about this. Jade's recent performances suggest 6400 is on the cards. A guaranteed Top 6 (& near medal chance)!. Half the GB team won't get near that. Sort it out @jackrbuckner @BritAthletics - it's not too late to do the right thing!. Worst non-selection ever!.
The non-selection of Jade O’Dowda, whose progress over the last 2-3 years has gone largely under the radar, must be the worst selection decision I can remember.

4 years ago, Australian pop star Cody Simpson was performing outside Buckingham Palace to launch the baton relay for the 2018 Commonwealth Games. 4 years later, Cody is competing for Australia in the sprint butterfly swimming events at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. Incredible!.

It was an absolute honour to meet the world’s oldest living Olympic champion today! 98 year old former gymnast Ágnes Keleti. 😊. She’s still got sass. She tickled my belly, told me I need to get stronger & nearly pulled out my shoulder when I went to shake her hand! 😂
