A moving moment of pride. In February 2021, I apologised on behalf of #MI6 to the LGBT+ community for the cruel ban which until 1991 denied committed, talented and patriotic people the chance to serve their country with honour. 1/2.
Marking the 30 year anniversary of lifting the vetting bar to LGBT+ employees in intelligence agencies in 1991, I apologise on behalf of #MI6 for the way LGBT+ colleagues and fellow citizens were treated, and express my regret for everyone whose life was affected #LGBTHM21

The US-UK intelligence “Special Relationship” was born here in 1941. We owe those who served at Bletchley Park in WWII such a debt for their hard work, ingenuity and discretion in saving Allied lives and shortening the war. 2/3.
