The potential impact of the new curriculum on clinical academic careers is enormous - it’s completely unrealistic to expect trainees to CCT in GIM and general cardiology, develop expertise in a subspecialty and establish a research track. Something has to give.

Calling all doctors by first name terms is regression rather than progression. I introduce all my residents on my ward round by title and surname. It’s time to end this wokeness and rebuild respect.
Dear Fellow Docs can we stop this UK first name only name badge nonsense. Please see link and get your own badge with your Title and First and last Name and Rank. Patients, Relatives other staff must know who they are talking to. Good medical practice.

Inheritance tax is a big scam. No farmers = no food. Can the government not see this?
“I’ve got £3m worth of cattle stood in the shed… but we’ve got no money” “This will be end of family farms” @vicderbyshire speaks to farmers and supporters attending the farmers’ inheritance tax protest in Westminster. #Newsnight

Medical education has always been a passion of mine. Here I stand with two @unimalaya medical students, Abang and Andrew, who were attending their medical elective at @uhbtrust . This is a picture of us in the middle of a busy night shift in SDEC.

Uneducated, vile and disgraceful behaviour.
🚨 NEW: Armed police arrive at tonight’s far-right rally in Southport before being made to retreat Some of the protestors in attendance can be heard shouting “F**k Muslims” https://t.co/ArsrTYe0Lf

Having had a look at the pay offer and the table breaking down what it will mean in take home pay… Is it ideal? No. We would love to get the 35% + exam fees etc. Looking at the country’s finance and rest of public sector is it realistically pretty good? Yes. I’d take it.

The fact that we had a lot more than what the previous health secretary offered is good news. I think many of us (myself included) agree that it was very unlikely that the government will offer the full 35% increase. Should take it IMO.
Will await full details from BMA, but if details here are correct, achieving 20% out of the initial aim of 35% is damn good progress. Please for fucks sake stop talking about what PAs earn and can we have the good sense to see this is the best offer any doctor’s group has got.

Please donate to this cause. I had the pleasure of teaching Dhruva when I was working as a clinical teaching fellow in Worcester, but wasn’t aware of the challenges he was facing. Please support him so that he can complete his degree and be a doctor.
I have been contacted by medical students at @unibirmingham They are trying to raise money for one of Dhruva who is unable to fund the rest of his studies due to extremely painful extenuating circumstances Read more here https://t.co/wVYLGhysED

This is very refreshing to hear ☺️
What more evidence do we need of the importance of academic medicine to the UK? The RCP voice needs to be heard loud & clear - academic training is an asset not an after thought. @Mumtaz_Patel_1 - let’s get this right @RCPWales @RCPhysicians

Very very lucky. Some of the worst managerial tactics I've ever seen. But a moment of magic keeps us alive
