Very on brand of @thecatempire to do a 45 minute medley of their greatest hits followed by a full three songs as their encore.

Critical mass of exodus to the other place seems to be underway, so like many others, you can find me there. Same name. Letβs hope it doesnβt get ruined this time

Our hope is that policymakers engage constructively with this response as part of a wider conversation from parties critiquing the Cass Review to ensure that the best possible care is provided in the new service for gender diverse and gender questioning children and young people.

It is important to bear in mind that while we focus largely on the practical aspects of the recommendations, concerns about the bias demonstrated in the narrative text of the review should not be overlooked. How this bias might colour implementation is yet to be seen.

Our critique has been undertaken on the premise that the Cass Review is going to be implemented in some form. With that in mind, we have assessed the reviewβs recommendations and added commentary on what can be done to ensure implementation is to the betterment of service users.

@Raphaelk0hn has excellently summarised the key points of the approach we took, main concerns and our conclusions:
Very glad to be releasing @GLADDUKβs response to the Cass Review today. This follows six months of careful and considered discussion of the Review in detail, and much deliberation. Hereβs the key points: π§΅

This statement has been written after a prolonged period of very careful consideration of the Cass Review, allowing us to have thoroughly reviewed and considered what @GLADDUK can add to the conversation.
Today we have published our statement on the Cass Review, a report released earlier this year in April As the UKβs only organisation representing LGBTQ+ doctors & dentists, we have carefully considered the issues raised & its reception in our response β¬οΈ https://t.co/z8BdUY1WcS

I just cannot fathom how anyone can look at the actions of the regime in Israel and see that they have any shred of moral standing Action after action towards the civilian population of Gaza has been absolutely morally repugnant and I canβt comprehend how people defend them still
If implemented, the laws adopted today by the Knesset of Israel would likely prevent @UNRWA from continuing its essential work in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, with devastating consequences for Palestine refugees. I call on Israel to act consistently with its obligations

Gym progress will only be recognised if measured in a frankly ludicrous number of small animals.
The app my pt uses for me to exercises gives a total weight lifted in a number of animals. Used to feel real chuffed about having lifted a couple of elephants or rhinos, but now will be disappointed if my animals arenβt measured in a totally unnecessary order of magnitude

Okay hear me out. New treatment option in palliative care. Choice between standard care of symptom control maximising comfort and dignity. Or⦠An honourable death in a heroic last stand with epic music playing.

Top-Down & Bottom-Up Mechanisms of Anaesthesia If you give propofol quickly, your EEG looks VERY different to a slow infusion (very slow). Why does this happen and what brain effects does it represent? It's because the way they cause unconsciousness are different! 1/9

Anyone else noticed a massive uptick of fake profiles following you on here in the last few weeks? Seem to be multiple every single day now

To be honest, for a profession who typically pride ourselves on logic and capacity for appraisal of evidence, it is honestly beneath us to be whipped up in to a furore over unverified anecdotes that simply do not add up.

While perhaps a student AA was involved, their role - if any - seems distinctly overstated. With the information available, itβs quite impossible to tell what their role was. If left without a nurse/ODP, that is far below national standards and nothing to do with the student.

Secondly, it would be highly unusual for a child to be left unattended without an experienced anaesthetic nurse/ODP, whose first actions in an acute scenario such as this would be to get help, notable a consultant anaesthetist.
