As Mid-Majors continue to sell us that the power 5 schools are stealing or attempting to steal all of their players. Data shows us that 60% of transfers were down transfers. (With 46% of those transfers being out of Division 1 entirely) . And only 9% were up-transfers.

My hot take is that Ray Lewis, while an all-time great, did not have a skillset that translated across eras in the way that Patrick Willis did. You could put 2007 Willis on the field today and he would still be the best in the game. 2006 Lewis fit better in 2006.

Charging players to practice doesn’t seem like you know good business for schools interested in winning. And schools were charging players for food as recent as June 30th, 2025.
College athletes should never want to become employees. In doing so, you become at-will to a university, you can get charged for food or to use facilities, as two very basic examples. The CBA push is from an outside interest group and it needs to get exposed.

The difference between 200k and 400k is massive. And it isn’t 1 extra room in your house.
Honestly it’s pretty crazy how fast the utility of money falls off. The difference between my lifestyle of making 50k vs 100k is absolutely insane; but double it again to 200k or even again to 400k, and I get like a nicer vacation and an extra two rooms in my house lol.
