Hello, gang. The 2023 season is almost here so I figured I’d put out my

highlights from the 2022 season from

/ . Couldn’t be more excited to take on more work than ever this year and hit the ground running at the end of the month.
Steve Carell calling in sick to not come into the set of The Office on the first day of the writers strike is one of my favorite stories from that time period.
This is true. Here's Conan spinning his wedding ring during the 2007 writers' strike just to fill airtime. It was like this for months.
NBC was lucky that Conan is the GOAT, but it's impossible to explain to Gen Z how bad the content will get if there's another one.
Reminder that Jayden Daniels has been in college so long that he threw a touchdown pass to Brandon Aiyuk over Demmondore Lenoir to beat Justin Herbert’s Oregon Ducks, pre-COVID. Objectively hilarious clip.
The Harlan call has been getting a ton of run so I wanted to find each call of the Chiefs winning the Super Bowl from the best in the business. You be the judge.
In order, it goes…
CBS: Jim Nantz
Westwood One: Kevin Harlan
ESPN international: Chris Fowler
Chiefs radio: Mitch…
Everyone is praising Evan Peters for his performance as Jeffrey Dahmer but my personal favorite performance of his is when he was Michael Scott’s nephew.
I could not wait to hear Jason and Travis Kelce talk about Quinn Meinerz … it didn’t disappoint.
Jason: I mean, this is a guy who was pass blocking a tree…
Travis: OH THAT’S WHO THAT IS?!
I mean this in a very kind way: Daniel Sorensen is the worst player I’ve ever seen that made the most clutch plays I’ve ever seen. Two 4th down stops in playoff games. Several interceptions that iced games. And a pick six nearly every year. Also drove you insane. What a player.
You tried to pin him up against Watson. No contest. Tried to pin him up against Lamar. No contest. Now you tried to pin him up against Josh Allen. Again, no contest.
Patrick Mahomes runs this league. He’s on another planet. It’s okay to admit it and accept it.
QB1: 26/41, 270 yards, 1 TD, 2 INT, 5 sacks
QB2: 29/43, 326 yards, 2 TD, 0 INT, 3 sacks
Let’s play a game: which one is the QB that played with a high ankle sprain and had 4 of his main 5 pass catchers out? Take a guess.
We haven’t talked enough about how much better the reaction shots were from Nickelodeon than CBS from getting Mahomes collapsing, a much better Reid shot without a guy getting mad about a push, and a better view of Swift and others going wild. Sports television is fascinating.
2018 Patrick Mahomes (12 games with the Chiefs): 41 TD, 10 INT
2016 Patrick Mahomes (12 games with Texas Tech): 41 TD, 10 INT
How about that for consistency?
I think the thing that makes me the most mad is the
@Chiefs
social media team deleting that Landlord tweet. There is nothing to apologize for. Especially with what Mathieu has done in the Kansas City community with that nickname. Stand by him. Stand by common sense. Ridiculous.
What’s so encouraging is that KC is not pulling what Seattle has done with Wilson, not what GB has done with Rodgers, and not what IND did with Luck. The Chiefs are putting an emphasis on helping Patrick Mahomes play to the best of his abilities. How refreshing.
Tonight’s Eagles/Bucs officiating crew is the same exact crew that was working the Chiefs/Jaguars game last week. Jawaan Taylor got flagged 5 times. Nothing has happened with Lane Johnson (yet). Andy Reid’s point keeps getting proven.
At the end of regulation Kelce wanted to run his route into an open space instead of what was actually called. He told Mahomes this.
Then to have Mahomes yell “Do it! Do it!” during his cadence, essentially telling Kelce to do what he said, is next level stuff.
I’ve talked about this several times but it’s still mind blowing. Larry Johnson only started 9 games for the Chiefs in 2005 and finished the year with 1720 rush yards, 2,063 total yards, 20 rush TDs, and 5.2 yards per carry.
I’m convinced the Bradberry hold where FOX showed a bad angle and Olsen said “ugh I wouldn’t have it in that spot” to 113 million people have broken people’s brains when it comes to Chiefs and the refs thing
Btw Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce just passed Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski today for most postseason touchdowns between a quarterback and pass catcher with now 16 total. Mahomes and Kelce did it in half the time.
Can’t believe we aren’t talking about this throw more. 3rd & 6, up by 11, halfway through the 4th quarter...and you throw an absolute dime to put the game on ice and send your team to the Super Bowl. It’s one of the best plays in Chiefs history.
sports will NEVER be as important as music or any other art. everyone can run and kick balls. a FEW can write and produce songs. being creative and expressing yourselves is something no football player can do successfully and win awards for that
Signing Josh Gordon is all you need to know about how the Chiefs feel about Mecole Hardman and Demarcus Robinson. All you need to know. They also watched those drops yesterday from Pringle and Kemp and knew that they had to do something. I applaud them for doing it.
Hearing former Skins draft pick Kendall Fuller heading back there on a free agent contract. Was a part of the Chiefs trade with Washington for Alex Smith
With
#Patriots
WR Julian Edelman’s thumb ailing and keeping him off the field, New England worked out free agent WR Justin Hunter today, source said. He’s played for the
#Steelers
the last two seasons.
So glad Brett Veach brought this up when talking about Clyde Edwards-Helaire. Situational football. Winning the 1st down.
That’s where the Chiefs missed Kareem Hunt the most. Why not make the life of Patrick Mahomes easier?
We have a “Thank you Fitz 12/29/19” sign right in front of Ryan Fitzpatrick, thanking him for his service for beating the Patriots and giving the Chiefs a 1st round bye.
Patrick Mahomes playing the best half of football I’ve ever seen him play in the 1st half followed by playing the worst half of football I’ve ever seen him play in the 2nd half right after this play in the 2021 AFC Championship game is something I will just never understand.
A big part of the Chiefs 1969 team was the *KNEE* injury to Len Dawson in week 2 of the season, where he held off surgery, took a few weeks off, and then came back and won the freaking Super Bowl in the face of adversity (death of dad, gambling accusations). The legend can grow.
Patrick Mahomes has never had a season end in regulation of an AFC Championship game. Never played on the road.
His seasons have ended, as follows:
18 - AFCCG OT loss vs NE
19 - SB LIV & MVP vs SF
20 - SB LV loss to Bucs
21 - AFCCG OT loss vs CIN
22 - SB LVII & MVP vs PHI
Most Brett Veach draft ever. Two weapons for Patrick where one is the fastest player ever and the other is compared to Travis Kelce. Left tackle of the future, Nick Allegretti replacement, and two defensive back steals on day 3.
Here is why Ray Lewis said that Chiefs offensive line was the best one he’s ever played against. Priest Holmes or Larry Johnson running behind this line was smash mouth football at its FINEST.
David Carr is currently on NFLN talking about how important the Demarcus Robinson signing was for the Raiders for how much it made the Chiefs weaker and made the Raiders stronger.
In the first 58 years of the franchise, the Kansas City Chiefs never hosted an AFC Championship. In Patrick Mahomes’s 2nd year as a starter, this will be their 2nd AFC Championship they’ve hosted. No deficit is too large with the MVP under center. What a performance.
The shot that’s being thrown around makes it look like Mahomes just ran right up to Josh Allen and cried out of nowhere. If you watch the whole thing, it seems pretty obvious that Mahomes was mad, his boy was asking why he was mad, and Pat explained why in the heat of it all.
I can’t believe I’m actually watching Zach Greinke pitch to Salvador Perez. Represents the two Royals generations I grew up on. The next generation is currently standing at 3rd base.
“I mean, just look at how they’re targeting Jawaan Taylor. He’s done this his whole career and now he’s being picked on because Cris Collinsworth threw a fit to 30 million people”
I’d like to point out how Mahomes recalls that Kelce had 1 catch for 6 yards in his first game with him and 140 yards and a TD in the next game with him like it just happened yesterday. Those games were week 1 and 2 of 2018.
