Another PPL disaster: They've created an Oct 1 deadline for hundreds of thousands home care workers to get physicals - or lose their jobs. Now clinics are overwhelmed, workers are driving hours to get appts, & CDPAP consumers are at risk of losing caregivers - all b/c of PPL.

@GustavoRiveraNY @JamesSkoufis thank you for being obsessed - nothing weird about it- with the safety and well being of older & disabled NYers and home care workers, and trying to safeguard our taxpayer dollars from @GovKathyHochul giving them away to her private equity friends.

Why is @GovKathyHochul weirdly obsessed with avoiding accountability for a program where over 100k home care workers haven’t been paid? What’s weird is her giving our taxpayer dollars to a failed out-of-state private equity corporation. @NYSenatorRivera @JamesSkoufis

Now @GovKathyHochul is trying to silence critics of the failing PPL transition, retaliating against @JamesSkoufis and vetoing a bill that would make government records more transparent. If there's nothing to hide, why obstruct accountability? https://t.co/voGnjxcj1p

We and members of the press been calling to release PPL’s conversations w/ @NYGOVHealth about the rigged CDPAP plan for months - and gotten crickets. Now @govkathyhochul is making it even harder to FOIL public records. What is she hiding??

Hochul vetoed this bill. It would've enacted more-stringent deadlines for fulfilling open-records requests. As @NickReisman noted, it was one of a handful of bills she vetoed today -- all sponsored by Sen Skoufis, who ratcheted up his criticism of Hochul this year.

Advocate and home care consumer, Jo Brand, addressed NY legislators on the personal cost of PPL to her and her caregivers. She makes a powerful case for why we must end the PPL monopoly and #SaveCDPAP NOW! #CareNotCorruption

We’ve requested a meeting w/ @MikiKapoor and gotten crickets. If PPL is so concerned about supporting workers, it should meet with them directly - not spin the truth in the media.
