Literally every other sport puts conference or division champs in the playoffs. Every single one. It’s the exact opposite. Nobody puts the Raiders (sorry @JMurphyLee) in the playoffs cause the Chiefs are just too good to beat.

The NFL literally has 8-8 or 9-8 teams in the Wild Card round of the playoffs because of guaranteed access for every division. The MLB works the same way. This is an awful take and blatant misinformation from @finebaum.

Miami very well could finish ranked higher than the ACC champ but miss the field while the ACC champ gets in. Who knew that oversized conferences that don't have divisions would be a problem.
