My lab members presented two wonderful talks on (1) assessment of motor speech and (2) syntax in ataxia at #ASHA2022. Amazing work @CaitlinCloudSLP, Kylie Dunne-Platero, and Melanie Esver!

My appearance may not match with your idea of a scientist but I am one. Scientific capabilities & achievements do not correlate with looks. It doesn’t matter what scientists wear or how they look, if they have tattoos or not, body piercing or not. We’re still scientists!

Symptoms of mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) may take time to resolve, and many patients don’t receive educational materials or follow-up care after being discharged from the hospital.

Come check out @CloudCaitlin and @drahilger's poster at the #2021BSMCS titled "The contribution of pitch and loudness control to speech naturalness in ataxia." We found that pitch control predicted speech naturalness in both speakers w/ & w/o ataxia more-so than loudness control.
