PhD interview season is back, so here’s my advice: For prospective PhD students, choosing a supportive mentor is 100 times more important than choosing a supervisor simply because they are at a top or famous institution.

After a long time, we were all together in the lab—sharing lunch, good conversations, and reminding each other that we’re always there on both personal and professional fronts. The happiness and warm moments we shared inspire me to do better. My students, my pride!

Hit 1,000 citations! The first came in 2013 — the next 999 took 12 years. Progress can be slow, but you’re not alone. Keep going, trust the process — papers will be accepted, grants will be funded, and growth will come. Good things take time!

I’m delighted to share that I have been promoted to Associate Professor. This milestone would not have been possible without the support of my family, friends, mentors & collaborators. Above all, massive thanks to my students—their dedication has been my greatest strength!

I appreciate @ANRFIndia tech support, but I haven’t received reply to 2 emails sent to the program officer (PO).Surprising, as my past experiences with POs were excellent—perhaps it depends on the individual. If ANRF aims to be researchers' favorite, support from all is essential.
Too good @ANRFIndia Feeling like saying “Bas kar pagle, ab rulayega kya” Unbelievable! PS: TBH, I had fantastic experience with my SERB grant admin, Dr. Sukumar Dey, solved every issue promptly.

Ph.D. shouldn't be about publishing in high-impact journals but mastering skills to solve problems, mentoring, leadership and coming-up with new ideas.

I think this issue needs serious thinking 👇 From many spheres of my contacts - job, friends, family - I am hearing the same thing - College going students have serious mental health issues. The Universities/Institutions get criticized for pushing them over the edge. 1/4

Today, a 5-year-old explorer visited the department and was found peering into the microscope with the help of the lab staff. His excitement was infectious! Who knows, this little moment of wonder might be the first step toward a big scientific adventure! #FutureScientist
