⬇️ Good piece by Jonathan Kanter @JKBustertruster, ex-AAG @JusticeATR, on deliberate circumvention of antitrust scrutiny (was there). Pay for top talent, leave some money behind for original investors (dress up as you like), everyone happy.

Thoughts on Europe’s predicament - everyone focuses on U.S. tariffs but China is also beating us down. That’s the clear message from @SanderTordoir @Brad_Setser @michaelxpettis but European elites are in deep denial. Across the board.

No. Don’t think we are all fools. Watching UvdL totally inept next to Trump playing with the little girl was excruciating. The DG Trade team equally inept sitting there like turkeys. Europeans are better than their useless elite.
The EU-US trade outcome gives planning security for the European economy. The 🇪🇺 Commission avoided serious harm. Nevertheless, this is only damage control. We must keep pursuing new trade deals and creating a true European Single Market. The EU remains strong.
