Without decarbonising heating we cannot decarbonise the economy: Home heating makes up a large share of carbon emissions in most European countries. Graph created by Aira using @IPCC_CH data.

Fixing cold and poor housing could provide ****£135bn**** of societal benefits by 2050. Investing £9bn to improve homes now would pay for itself in 9 years based on ****just**** NHS savings. Warm and decent homes are the foundation for society. Why is this still so hard? 😑

Our report "Ignoring the cost of poor housing" reveals that remedial work to England’s poorest housing could provide Β£135.5bn in societal benefits over 30 years. With benefits including #NHS savings, lower #energybills & carbon emissions, see more: https://t.co/v9qCKZWTc7 #NHS75
