Jewish father met with the Muslim woman who confronted his children’s abuser on a full Tube carriage. They met for coffee in Manchester today, he bearing flowers and thanking her in person for her intervention: https://t.co/uFMfEq5S0U

Really useful and valuable report here around #financialrelisience which we know, with high cost of living in London and precarious employment is a major issue for many of us and our neighbours. Worth a read, link to report is in the thread.
The #FinancialResilience Taskforce have launched a new report, Measuring Household Resilience, which shows how 4-6m working age people a year suffer a financial shock and what is needed to help them cope better. @SianWilliams41, a member of the taskforce explains in more detail:

This is so brilliant: fintech has much to learn from black British community-led saving and loan initiatives. How could we use tech to support and strengthen these schemes? Would love to explore this further with the @TheFinanceLab community

This training has been put on because many churches told us they'd love do set up or continue with @CAP, @CMA_MoneyAdvice or @CrosslightAdv debt centres...if that's you, please come and find out ways you might be able to fund it!
If your church has a vision to set up a social action project but not sure how you can fund it, we have training for you! Fundraising for Social Outreach, Tues 5th Nov in Pimlico. FREE and all welcome!

thoroughly recommend @FairforYouCIC for anyone who otherwise would turn to Brighthouse (or other high cost rent-to-own stores) for household items!
Do you know someone who could benefit from #affordable pay weekly #credit for essential household items? Help us spread the word about affordable pay weekly credit by sharing our posters. DM us and we'll send some out to you. PLEASE RT #povertypremium #endhighcostcredit

Really interesting finding from @ToynbeeHall on savings by people on low incomes - @AndyLymer very pertinent to our recent @UoBCHASM podcast

It’s not right that #foodbanks have seen an increase in areas where #UniversalCredit has been rolled out. We’re seeing the impact too so have joined @TrussellTrust in saying the wait for payment is #5WeeksTooLong - our govt must end it now!
