What a pleasure to be in such wonderful company in @TechCrunch's feature on women in AI. "The more I have worked in AI, the more I have found myself grappling with deeply humanistic questions. And these questions require all of us to answer them." https://t.co/b9QDWOb1DN

I worked so, so hard on this piece: It's about OpenAI bringing back erotica, what's been going on with users' mental health, and how it all relates to making AI go well.

And if journalists choose to use AI for truth telling, it's vital to disclose and make clear how, and why they're doing so. Our @BBC and @CBC cases explore just this: https://t.co/3Oynr8Jlc5.

This case shows why consent, next-of-kin involvement, and transparency for audiences are critical when real people’s likeness is used—especially posthumously. At @PartnershipAI, we've developed guidance, from real-world cases (eg @witnessorg's on consent +digital resurrection)

A few people have asked me if a technical fix for AI model sycophancy is on the cards. In fact, a technical fix for sycophancy is trivial. In many cases all it would take is a tweak to the system prompt. The reason companies are struggling to get this right is not technical.
