Like many of you, I am shocked with Asian hate crime in the US, but much more so I am by the prevalent dehumanizing discourse around China the country and it’s economy and people. Every article, speech etc, assumes that WTO membership was a favor granted and now only poverty

Very thankful to Mr. Bass for consistently generating good opportunities in an otherwise boring market. Without Mr. Bass, the HKD market will never be the same again. Wish him the very best in raising new funds!

The single best report I’ve read on the US chips blockade against China—a strong overview of the issue but more important, it cuts through technical issues to show the true significance. The US is telling China to accept defeat or go to war. Some quotes: https://t.co/KYPzxp6HvW

The Biden administration thinks it can preserve America’s technological primacy by cutting China off from advanced computer chips. Could the plan backfire?

1/ The impact of U.S. chip export controls towards China is more human than tech: @WSJ combed thru corporate filings to identify 43 American senior executives in 16 listed Chinese chip firms. They now have to chose between their citizenship & for some, the startups they founded.

From the archive: In a 1997 essay, Fareed Zakaria argued that the post-Cold War wave of democratization masked a dangerous global trend—elected governments were routinely embracing an illiberal form of democracy. https://t.co/O7ruaJLjjt

Notice a pattern in the chart? look at P.R., Hawaii and Florida. Hospitalization and death counts in tropical states are quite subdued.

✂️50% CUT—does this makes sense—CDC shortens #COVID19 isolation period for those without symptoms (self-reported) to just 5 days, instead of 10. All while #Omicron cases surpassing last year’s peaks👇 with hospitalizations up tooI really worry about this. https://t.co/huOe5Myl26
