I don’t say this lightly but complete scumbag behavior to solicit donations via ActBlue (posing as a Democrat by doing so) to only then file for office as a Republican. If you donated to her, you should demand a refund. Disqualifying for office to scam people like this
I have officially filed to run for Texas Railroad Commissioner in the 2026 election cycle. Filing as a Republican, I am directing my campaign toward all Texans and stressing that effective statewide leadership must rise above partisan expectations.

If you’re a Democrat, you should be *extremely* happy with the turnout results in the Miami mayoral election. Combined with the early vote data we do have, it paints a nearly perfect picture to flip that office for the first time in 27 years (Manny Diaz being an Indy in ‘01-‘08)
City of Miami ☀️ Mayoral Election Ballots cast by registration Advance vote (mail + in person) 🔵 DEM 9,716 🔴 GOP 7,828 ⚪️ Other 5,855 Election Day (7 AM to 10 AM) 🔵 DEM 1,182 🔴 GOP 938 ⚪️ Other 675

Unfortunately, there are a core group of Democrats (and traditionally democratic-aligned groups like unions) that either like Trump’s tariffs or are so pro-tariff as a topic that they are skittish to engage on the issue. It’s - for now - a lost opportunity

But it also would have preserved the democratic push on healthcare premiums. Essentially you would’ve gotten two bites at the apple on two topics Republicans are polling *horribly* on and both would’ve fed nicely into Democratic mid-term affordability messaging

This right here is why I think Democrats held the wrong shutdown fight. The much easier fight with Trump was over his tariff authority. Pro-Biz Republicans already hated it and it was in the lead up to the holiday shopping season. There was a much more direct “squeeze” to apply
What is absolutely *wild* to me is that a lot of Democrats are refusing to attack Trump on tariffs as the #1. No other policy he has is nearly as unpopular — and save for healthcare, there's nothing that would cause nearly as much damage to Republicans.

I turn 35 today and nothing would make me happier than if we raised $350 for the Greater DC Diaper Bank. WIC doesn’t cover diapers. Please donate whatever you can for some mothers who need it. https://t.co/Hf2QEw3bDS

Greater DC Diaper Bank empowers families and individuals in need throughout DC, Maryland, and Virginia by providing an adequate and reliable source for basic baby needs and personal hygiene products.

It’ll be an absolute failure of the democratic policy establishment if they do not exile Jake Sullivan to Siberia. He was a wrecking ball to American interests in Europe & MENA. The Democratic Party needs a period of renewal and that includes clearing out Jake Sullivan
Some of Biden's top aides on Gaza/Israel—Jake Sullivan, Amos Hochstein, Jon Finer—are reuniting tonight in DC in the latest sign they hope to retain major power among Dems They're co-hosting a reception for congressional candidate Jake Levine. Invite prominently features Sullivan

Democrats lose perhaps their best Texas Senate candidate. And unless Talarico pulls off a major upset against Crockett, it also means Democrats have likely just torpedoed their chances in Texas. Senate majority path for them now runs through Ohio/NC/Maine/Alaska instead.
NEW: Former Rep. Colin Allred is dropping out of the #txsen primary and running for Congress in TX-33 instead The move comes ahead of an expected Senate announcement from Rep. Jasmine Crockett and makes a runoff less likely More @TexasTribune: https://t.co/6Pw4Rdulim

You may laugh but this is technically infinity percent better than the typical polling
One of the stronger Black crosstabs for Buttigieg that I’ve seen in polling recently, per @YalePolling.

Not to mention that if these guys get private sector jobs, it just further increases the odds they’re no-shows

While this likely won’t threaten the Republican House majority on paper, it is going to make Mike Johnson’s vote counting much more difficult. Retiring members are notoriously difficult to wrangle for votes (usually because they’re out of DC) and the House margin is so thin
Puck News: Up to 20 Republicans in the House are expected to announce retirements in the coming weeks. https://t.co/gs9cB2RksZ

The worst part about this story isn’t just that she’s probably going to run for senate, it’s that she’s getting campaign advice from Stacey Abrams
in June, Beto O'Rourke, Allred, Talarico & Joaquin Castro met to try to engineer a full slate Dem ticket in Texas. It didn't work. And they didn't invite Jasmine Crockett then b/c even she wasn't thinking of running. Now she's asked Allred to drop out. https://t.co/fuEPZjcOcA

And Russia’s useful idiots will never question their actions in Africa or if they do feel uncomfortable w/ it, they’ll engage in the most desperate game of whataboutism you’ve ever seen

Now we have JNIM (Al-Qaeda) and ISIS running rampant. A new genocide unfolding in Darfur. Refugee/migration crisis expanding. The new Russian-backed juntas encouraging more state collapse and now millions are faced with death and destruction. All for some extra rubles

And this is almost entirely for resource extraction and arms sales to regimes now entirely dependent on Russian (and Chinese/Emirati) largess. And what’s left in their wake is ethnic cleanings, human rights abuses, resources (gold, oil, uranium, etc.) being robbed

The death & damage that Russia has wrought in Africa is astonishing. They’ve helped overthrow multiple governments in West Africa (including in Benin today), have supported the RSF & Sudanese government, funded/armed Haftar’s Libya and committed ethnic cleansing in the CAR

People weaponizing environmental review to stop projects they personally don’t support is why the median home price in LA is $1.1 million, and why it took 18 years to environmentally approve California High-Speed Rail. We need serious reform.
The coalition of LA residents who oppose the Dodger Stadium gondola shut down the Metro board of directors meeting Thursday. They forced the meeting into recess and demanded that officials at minimum allow public discussion on the project. This is a developing story.

60.000 SIXTY THOUSAND. That's the latest estimation of the number of people who were slaughtered in El Fasher by the RSF these past weeks. The people of Sudan 🇸🇩 are suffering from genocide and the world is letting it happen.

The Mississippi Miracle is actually real, no matter how you cut the data. This is a great piece by Kelsey Piper, and I strongly encourage pundits to read it instead of latching onto shoddy papers in an attempt to gleefully dunk on red states.

It doesn’t mean that the reform package doesn’t have its merits, but you lose the ability to form the broadest boundaries of your priorities. Transmission line sitting has extremely strong opponents at the utilities & local NIMBYs. You need a lot of political capital to beat them
