It’s important to have a futures market with any contentious fork in Bitcoin. Why? Because the party forking gets what is called the “free call option”. They can tweet, do long monologue videos about how their fork will win, and how no one will oppose them. They can use

Just publish a piece over at Protos with miners' thoughts (or lack thereof) on the recent soft fork proposal and the "spam" controversy more generally. Here's some of what @TomasGreif from Braiins had to say: "This specific proposal seems very poorly written [as] proposed.

Why is it so hard for bitcoiners to come to this, the correct conclusion?
Unpopular opinion: I don’t give a fuck about spam on the Bitcoin blockchain, and I never have. If you are retarded and want to pay fees to put non-monetary bullshit into blocks, you have the right to do so. Knock yourself out, ya dummie.

Deater nailed it with this one.
People are finally waking up to the fact that @LukeDashjr is a scammer and enemy of bitcoin. -Change BTC’s algorithm now or it will die! -Reduce block size now or BTC will die! -Use his mining pool now or bitcoin will die! -Lost his coins donate to him! GFÝ Luke and GTFO 🖕

Happy Bitcoin Whitepaper Day! Did you know that in 2013 someone paid 0.596175 BTC ($55.46) to embed the Bitcoin whitepaper in the blockchain? And the transaction was confirmed in a block by @LukeDashjr's Eligius mining pool? How did they accomplish this without Taproot or

These guys are completely delusional.
@Okzenz It's not even a fork really. It's just returning Bitcoin to what it has always done. v30 was the policy fork. Miners gain revenue from letting Bitcoin be Bitcoin.

Apparently BIP444 is already dead and they’re drafting a new one 🙄

If you want to run Knots go for it. I wouldn't but I have no right to tell you what client to run or how to configure it. Supporting BIP444 is incredibly stupid and dangerous however. Try to understand where this leads and don't blindly trust @LukeDashjr. @BtcPadre gets it.

I don’t think many people arguing on here actually read Dashjr’s softfork proposal, so here’s a quick run down. First, to all the apologists claiming that Dashjr has nothing to do with this softfork, he’s literally credited as the original author of the proposal in the BIP, and

That's the end of me replying to Luke. Got the old "Lair" and block treatment. @LukeDashjr - best of luck with Bitcoin Cashjr

BIP-444 is a bad idea. Not going to soft fork anything. Temporary or not. Feel sad that some devs moving further and further in the wrong direction.

A big issue I see is that the filters supporters are unable/unwilling to understand technical reality. Even with a centralized filters provider and forced auto-updates (both of which go against everything Bitcoin stands for) filters are an unwinnable cat and mouse game.

Core is pragmatic. They look at raising datacarriersize as potential harm reduction. That is how galaxy brain developers think. Luke and Mechanic wanted this controversy and mind share split from the beginning, to market Ocean Pool. "Come mine with the legally compliant pool."

The filters are safe and effective. We need a temporary soft fork to stop the spread of spam. Just give us two weeks.

Done with a decade old script that doesn't even use segwit, let alone taproot. 100% standard and fully compatible with @LukeDashjr's BIP-444.
Want to put arbitrary data on Bitcoin CashJr after the inevitable BIP 444 hard fork? @peterktodd with this banger, containing the entire text of the proposed BIP! https://t.co/uumW6WLwkU

Luke and Mechanic are using dishonest tactics that are misleading. In philosophy it's called the motte and bailey fallacy. "Bitcoin is going to die" "No one said bitcoin is going to die." The "motte" represents a modest, easily defendable claim, while the "bailey" is a more
